Renault 11 Turbo by Zender

There was a route wired in my adolescent brain between the word "Zender" and the sight of a bad-ass car. I'm not sure why, looking at it now: what is it, exactly, that attracts me to yellow fog lights, hard-edged plastic bodykits and salad spinner wheel covers…

Zender always did lean this way, didn't they? And when the cool thing became hooking up with a performance parts manufacturer to boost your street cred, Renault took the appropriate step of endowing its hot 11 Turbo with the full exterior accoutrements that only Zender could provide.

This Friday, take a look at this 113-ish horsepower Renault 11 Turbo, a slightly less frenetic hot hatch that enjoyed the engine from the Renault 5 Turbo and a body to match our Renault Encore…and now that's the name of a Buick…

Anyway. The 11 Turbo was great in competition trim, and you'll find a whole whack of photos of them if you do a Google Image Search for the car. Sadly, there's not much more to this one, except to maybe fire up your local classifieds if you now have a hankering for French steel.
